OFFICER'S SABER FOR AN INFANTRY MARINE OFFICER AND NON-COMMISSIONED OFFICER, MODEL 1848, SECOND REPUBLIC.
Gilded bronze hilt, guard with three branches forming an openwork shell decorated with laurel branches and in its center an anchor placed on a bundle of flags. Cap with a long tail decorated with a flower and laurel branches. Horn handle with filigree brass. Straight blade with grooves and hollow edges, curved back edge, back with a ridge, length 81.1 cm; back engraved "Manufacture de Klingenthal". Red cloth knot. Black varnished leather scabbard with three gilded bronze fittings.
Very good condition, gilding missing.
