FULL DRESS OFFICER'S GIBERNE OF THE GUIDES OF THE IMPERIAL GUARD OF NAPOLEON III, second model 1857, SECOND EMPIRE.
Wooden case covered with dark green waxed morocco leather lined with green velvet, with the two sides in gilded brass framed by an engraved strip.
Dimensions of the case: height 6.8 cm, maximum width 15.5 cm, minimum width 13.1 cm.
Slightly trapezoidal rectangular tab (height 8.7 cm, width at the top 15.8 cm, width at the bottom 16.7 cm) in leather lined with dark green waxed morocco leather, covered with a gilded copper plate bordered by a gilded brass strip (width 8 mm) embossed in relief with oak leaf branches connected by knotted ribbons. The center is decorated with a radiant sun in silver metal (height 6.8 cm, width 14 cm). Two gilded brass ornaments are attached to this sun: an "N" on a sanded background (height 2.2 cm, width 2.2 cm) topped with the imperial crown of the Guides (height 5.5 cm, width 6.1 cm).
Leather band entirely clad in burgundy waxed morocco leather (width 5.5 cm) covered on its outer side with a galloon of the same width in silver trim with three dark green silk stripes. This band is decorated with five silver metal fittings, a rectangular buckle, a loop, a shield-shaped plate, and an oval radiant sun decorated in its center with an uncrowned imperial eagle surmounted by a large crown of the Guides, these last two elements are linked together by two curb chains.
In perfect condition, slight oxidation of the silver trim, some rubbing on the bottom of the gilded tab.
