1874 MARINE OFFICER MODEL REVOLVER, Third Republic.
Six-shot revolver, 11mm caliber, centerfire percussion. Made of steel with a blued finish of nearly 100%, except for the hammer, trigger, loading gate, and cylinder pin which are case hardened. The front part of the barrel is conical with a front sight, the middle part is octagonal, with "Mle 1874 M" engraved on the top flat. The ramrod housing is on the right side. Cylinder with six chambers, grooved on the exterior symmetrically around a cylindrical channel where the cylinder pin engages. Iron cap ring with pivot and pin. Marked "Mre d'Armes St Étienne" on the frame, and stamped by the Saint-Étienne Arms Factory on the cylinder and frame. Checkered walnut grips.
