DRAGOON AND DRAGOON CARTRIDGE BOX OF THE IMPERIAL GUARD, model 1854, Second Empire. 34404
Black leather case, brass sides stamped "Delachaussée" with metal tenons and buckles with double articulation. Height 7 cm, width 18.4 cm, thickness 3.8 cm.
The shoulder strap is framed by a 6 mm wide brass rod and features a brass plate stamped with a radiant sun with the Grand Imperial Arms in the center (height of the plate 6.9 cm, width 12.6 cm). Shoulder strap height 9.7 cm x maximum width 22 cm (unlike the Guard cuirassiers whose width was 18 cm). Back of the shoulder strap marked "189 48 942 1848 RG".
White buff leather dragoon cartridge box with edge stitching (width 5.4 cm), consisting of a slightly curved band on its flat surface and a buckle joined by a rectangular loop (width 8.1 cm, height 5.8 cm) with angles cut off and a copper loop and an ornament (width 5.8 cm, height 4.4 cm) of the same metal at the floating ends of the band. Four double copper buttons for fastening. On the back, it bears an old marking of an artillery regiment "II ART a I" and marked "1 338". Second Empire cartridge box reused within the Imperial Guard.
