PAIR OF MARÉCHAL DE CAMP EPAULETTES, JULY MONARCHY.
They are embroidered with twists and gold sequins. The body is embroidered with a design depicting a V-shaped braid lined with a scalloped framing rod on thin black cloth; its shield is decorated with a scalloped border shield, adorned with two silver stars. The fringes are in large matte twists. The outline consists of three turns: a large one in matte braid and shiny spun alternately on a cotton core; an inner one in small matte twisted milanese, mixed with another simple shiny one; a third of the same work is applied below the large one at the beginning of the fringe. Uniform button 1830 (half-rounded, gilt in burnished and matte finish, embossed with a trophy formed by flags and a shield topped with a rooster and a helmet), fixed at the top of the epaulette body; a strong brass clasp (this clasp fits into a small pocket sewn onto the uniform). A tag is sewn on the back of the epaulette body, it is white printed in black, oval in shape, and marked "DASSIER, HABERDASHER TRIMMER Patented by His Royal Highness the Duke of Orléans IN PARIS, Rue de Richelieu No. 12."
