COUNTRY GUARD PLATE OF THE COMMUNE OF SERMIZELLE, First Empire. 5604
Oval-shaped engraved brass plaque (H 10 cm, width 7.7 cm). It is engraved on one side with a crowned imperial eagle holding in its claws the sparkling spindle of Jupiter and in its beak a laurel branch. All around, is engraved the inscription “LA LOI GUARDE CHAMPÊTRE DE LA COMMUNE DE SERMIZELLE”.
This plaque was also engraved on the reverse of the Arms of France from which the fleurs-de-lys have been erased, surmounting two branches of laurel leaves. All around, the inscription “GARDE CHAMPÊTRE DE LA COMMUNE DE SERMIZELLE” is engraved.
