BELT PLATE OF THE HEALTH SERVICE, model of the 1st Vendémiaire Year XII (September 24, 1803), First Empire.
Cast bronze belt plate, chiseled and gilded, rectangular in shape (6.4 cm in height x 8.25 cm in width). High-quality chiseled plate featuring a relief design on a sandblasted background, depicting a single serpent coiled around a rod topped with the mirror of prudence, framed by an oak branch and a laurel branch. The border is composed of three prominent and smooth fillets separated by a grooved fillet. The reverse is lined with white calfskin and features a double-pronged hook and stud. Weight: 124 grams.
