OFFICER'S SHAKO OF THE 5th HUSSARS REGIMENT, Restoration. 34539
Made of cardboard covered with royal blue cloth, height 255 mm; black varnished leather top, diameter 170 mm; bordered at the top with a 30 mm wide silver "lizard" type braid. On the front part, a loop composed of six silver braids, approximately 35 mm wide each (diameter of each braid 5 mm), attached at the bottom to a half-spherical silver-plated brass uniform button of 17 mm in diameter, holding a silver metallic cockade, diameter 70 mm. The back is adorned with a 184 mm height waxed leather neck cover.
At the back, at the top, a small uniform button (missing) holds a silver loop. At the front, the lower part is bordered with a 5 mm diameter round silver trim along the visor. The round leather visor is 70 mm wide. Interior leather lining cut in wolf teeth design. Frame lined with red paper. Chinstrap composed of a chain link in gilt brass rings, mounted on a leather chin strap covered with royal blue cloth. Rosettes in relief-stamped gilt brass in the shape of lion heads, diameter 38 mm.

Good condition, small loss on the shako cloth, tired cloth of the chin strap but original, oxidization of the trimmings, worn lining.
