Lieutenant's Shako of the National Guard, Model 1814, First Restoration (1814-1817).
Made of black felt-covered cardboard (height 22 cm), with a black velvet lining (height 25 cm), featuring silver thread braid in the "lizard" pattern (height 2.5 cm), mounted on a wide black velvet braid, and a black varnished leather crown (diameter 22 cm). The visor is black waxed leather on top and green underneath (width 6 cm), with a silver metal wire trim folded over the outer edge.
The 1814 model silver-plated copper plaque is stamped with an oval coat of arms (elongated vertically) topped with three fleur-de-lis, surmounted by the royal crown, and framed by laurel branches, the shield resting on a base stamped with an altar at the center bearing a hunting horn in a laurel wreath, with additional fleur-de-lis branches at the bottom, framed by rooster heads (height 14 cm; width 11.5 cm).
The chinstraps are silver-plated copper with a sandblasted background adorned with fleur-de-lis motifs and a prominent framing molding: the leather-covered chin strap features 15 scalloped brass scales, with the last one rounded at the end (approximately 24.5 cm in length; maximum width 3.5 cm).
The cockade is made of white silk fabric (diameter 6.5 cm).
The scarlet plume, missing the olive pompom, is made of horsehair and measures 31 cm in height.
The interior crown is made of black waxed leather cut into wolf's teeth.
In very good condition.
